If you think back to 2012, Trine 2: Director’s Cut was one of the more impressive Wii U launch titles, despite being an eShop-exclusive from a small independent studio.
Having gone back and updated the original Trine with an Enchanted Edition – which us Wii U owners are still waiting for! – Frozenbyte’s started work on a third game in the series: Trine 3: The Artifacts Power.
The three musketeers, Zoya, Amadeus and Pontius, are teaming up for another grand adventure. Little is known in terms of story just yet, but we can already see a number of new additions in the début trailer:
Along with gorgeous visuals and animations, which have become a staple for the series, we can also see that certain areas of the game have all-new 3D environments for you to explore, opening up endless new possibilities in terms of gameplay – from boss fights to open chasms for Zoya to swing through.
We look forward to hearing more about Trine 3 in the coming months, ahead of its PC release later this year. In terms of a Wii U release, we remain hopeful as Frozenbyte’s official site states that consoles are currently ‘to be confirmed’.
