Indie game studio Image & Form has just announced the third game in its SteamWorld series – sub-titled Heist. Having tackled the tower defence genre on DSiWare, and more recently explored the depths of vertical platforming in the critically acclaimed SteamWorld Dig, SteamWorld Heist is a turn-based strategy game based in space.
Following the events of SteamWorld Dig, cataclysmic events have forced the planet’s robot population to flee in their steam-driven spaceships, and the only way to survive is by heisting water and other resources from your enemies’ ships and bases.
Image & Form has said in the past that its next SteamWorld game would target a release on Nintendo 3DS first, before making its way to other platforms – as was the case with SteamWorld Dig – although SteamWorld Heist’s platforms, release date and price are unconfirmed at this point.
