During last night’s Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo finally revealed Bayonetta 2′s release date, alongisde two limited edition bundles – one of which is exclusive to Europe.
Bayonetta 2 will launch exclusively on Wii U late next month, on 24th October. Early birds will have the chance to pre-order a First Print Edition, the Special Edition, or the solus game.
The First Print Edition will only be available to European gamers in the PAL region, and will come bundled with a boxed copy of the original Bayonetta, The Art of Bayonetta 2 art book which boasts leather-effect packaging, and a Book of Angels that delivers information regarding Bayonetta’s angelic foes.
The Special Edition, meanwhile, has a disc copy of Bayonetta’s Wii U remake alongside the upcoming sequel; and the solus is – as you’d expect – a bog-standard copy of Bayonetta 2.
If you’d rather opt into a digital purchase, both Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 will be available to purchase separately from the Nintendo eShop – where owning one will earn you a discount when you purchase the other.
It was previously confirmed that Princess Peach, Link and Samus costumes will be available in the Bayonetta remake. Now, these costumes – plus an exclusive Fox McCloud outfit – have also been confirmed for Bayonetta 2.
Finally, Bayonetta 2 will feature a co-operative online multiplayer mode called Tag Climax, in which the second player will take control of Rodin – a recurring character for fans of the original title.
