Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire are 3DS remakes of the GBA classics, out November

Nintendo has announced that the next Pokémon titles to emerge from Game Freak will be remakes of the Game Boy Advance’s Ruby and Sapphire.

Information is very thin on the ground, although the teaser trailer (embedded above) reveals it’ll be available “worldwide” in November.

Meanwhile, the small print all but confirms that Game Freak will be using the engine developed for Pokémon X and Y, as the main overworld will be playable in 2D, while “some areas” (presumably battle scenes) will make use of the 3DS’s tech to push 3D visuals.
