With Pikmin 3 nearing so close to its released date, 26th July and 4th August in Europe and North America respectively, we’ve now been given its eShop file-size. After all the waiting and pleading from fans of the previous games back on GameCube, this new entry in the series is finally releasing a good 7 years after Pikmin 2, and we’re confident Nintendo has used this time to put a lot of effort into making it the most enjoyable Pikmin experience yet.
While we understand traditionally, gamers like to buy retail copies of their games, and in the new-age, some people are more fond of their digital collection, and for those wanting to fire up the game without the need of a disc, we have great news. If you want to download the game from the eShop, whether you settled on a Basic/Premium model, you won’t have to fork out out extra for an external hard-drive. Pikmin 3 takes up about 3950MB (about 3.85GB), which also equates to about 31,840 blocks. This means the download should fit comfortably on anyone’s Premium model, while Basic owners would need to have downloaded very little, and if you already own an external hard-drive, well, you have nothing to worry about.
Do you plan to download from the eShop? If so, you have a good month to make sure you have the required amount of room for it on your system.
