Batman: Arkham Origins is an upcoming release from Warner Bros. Games Montreal, and the third instalment in the popular Arkham series. With the game currently set for release on October 15th, it’s no surprise that Warner Bros. has begun promoting the game’s first piece of downloadable content. The ‘Deathstroke’ DLC will be available early to those who pre-order the game, but unfortunately, it looks as though Wii U owners will be missing out on the first downloadable expansion.
The press release from Warner Bros. states:
“Fans who pre-order the game for Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 system or Windows PC will receive exclusive early access to the Deathstroke pack.”
As you can see in the image above which promotes the content, despite including the Wii U box art and logo, it reads “not available on all platforms”. We can only assume this is referring to the Wii U, while further confirmation can be seen from the game’s box art, as out of all four of them, the Wii U’s is the only one to not include the Deathstroke DLC logo.
While it looks set in stone that the content will skip Wii U, some retailers are stating otherwise. With Amazon’s product page mentioning the bonus content, and the listing on GameStop appears to include each platform in the bonus offer.
Will the absence of the DLC affect your decision to purchase the Wii U version? Or does the lack of extra content not deter you from the game? You can pre-order Batman: Arkham Origins here.
