Back when Cloudberry Kingdom was first revealed for Wii U and PC, developer Pwnee Studios announced that it’d be using Kickstarter to crowd-fund the challenging platformer – mainly due to the indie studio’s reluctance to pair with a publisher.
Almost a year after raising over $20,000, it’s now been confirmed that Ubisoft has stepped in to publish the game, and assist in porting it to other platforms – PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and Xbox 360. Similar to Rayman Legends, Cloudberry Kingdom will launch in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U sometime during Summer.
With regards to the Nintendo 3DS, a port for the handheld isn’t currently in the works, although Pwnee Studios’ team leader doesn’t rule out a conversion at some point in the future:
“It’s still in our minds, we would really love to do a 3DS port. I’m not giving up on it yet, I would say there’s still a chance.”
