Resident Evil: Revelations will have paid DLC on Wii U

resident_evil_revelationsWith the upcoming HD port of Resident Evil: Revelations, Capcom is making small new additions to improve the overall experience, and hopefully make next month’s re-release more enticing for those that already played the original 3DS version.

One such feature you may not be pleased to hear about, however, is the inclusion of paid downloadable content. Coming from the PC port’s Steam page, the third and final pre-order bonus – which will unlock if enough people purchase the game prior to its release date – is a ‘Resident Evil: Revelations Season Pass’, which gives free access to four, otherwise paid-for, weapon and character packs.

While on the subject of pre-order bonuses, those purchasing the game from Steam will receive an artbook and soundtrack CD, with the potential to unlock a free copy of Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions and the aforementioned Season Pass.

Can you see yourself paying for additional characters and weapons in Resident Evil: Revelations’ Raid Mode? The original version felt like a very complete package without the need for additional content, so it’ll be interesting to see how many people actually invest once it becomes available post-launch.

You can pre-order Resident Evil: Revelations for Wii U here, or for other formats here.
