The caped crusader is returning to Wii U. As we reported in February, Warner Bros. recently confirmed that it’s working on a third game in the acclaimed Batman: Arkham series.
In development at Warner Bros. Games Montreal, Batman: Arkham Origins will swoop onto Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 25th October, while Armature Studios is working on a handheld spin-off for Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita, entitled Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.
The home console game will be a prequel to Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, running on Rocksteady’s modified Unreal Engine 3. Blackgate, meanwhile – as the first handheld Arkham Game – is a 2.5D Metroidvania platformer from a new studio formed by ex-Retro Studios employees.
Are you looking forward to Batman’s upcoming escapade, or are you wary now that the series has moved on from its original developer?
