Not too long ago, we reported that Capcom would be region-locking Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate’s online servers. The Japanese developer had also recently stated that the game would not feature Off-TV Play, as it intends to offer a ‘true dual-screen experience’.
While these facts will remain true for a month after launch, Capcom has responded to fan feedback in confirming that a software update to the Wii U game will be made available in April. It will open up cross-regional online multiplayer between European and North American monster hunters, and give you the option to play the game entirely on the GamePad.
Capcom is also supporting Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on both Wii U and 3DS with free downloadable quests post-launch, with the first available on day one – 22nd March.
