News: F-Zero, NightSky, and a trio of demos hit Nintendo eShop this week – Full-Line-Up

eshop_210213.fwWith the next Wii U Virtual Console title, three demos, and a whopper discount, it’s not a terrible week for Nintendo eShop enthusiasts at all.

The first and only original download this week comes in the form of Nicalis’ NightSky (£8.99) on Nintendo 3DS, following numerous months of delay since its North American release. It’s “an action-puzzle game that offers an ambient gameplay experience unlike any other on Nintendo 3DS with cerebral challenges that fill uniquely designed picturesque worlds”. It’s also worth noting that the same game is £5.99 on Steam.

As the second part of Nintendo’s Wii U Virtual Console Trial, F-Zero is headed to the Nintendo eShop for a mere 30p. Those found whining about Balloon Fight’s 50Hz ‘limitation’ in its Miiverse community will be pleased to hear that it’s the US-NTSC arriving in Europe today, meaning it’ll be running at 60Hz. “Taking full advantage of the Super NES’s ‘Mode  7’ effect, F-Zero redefined racing games with its smooth, fast graphics and thrilling gameplay”.

Meanwhile, Frozenbyte’s fantastic Trine 2: Director’s Cut remains on sale, at £9.99 until 7th March, whilst WayForward’s similarly great Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition goes half-price for one week only, so you’ll be able to get your hands on the excellent platformer for £4.49 until 28th February.

On the demo front, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate has two trial versions arriving in the Nintendo eShop tomorrow – one for Wii U, and one for Nintendo 3DS, so you can determine which, if any, you’ll be investing in when it arrives next month. Similarly, Konami’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate is also set to receive the demo treatment.
