News: Tank! Tank! Tank! goes free-to-play – This Week’s Nintendo eShop Line-Up

tank_tank_tankIt’s not a bad week for Nintendo downloads this week. We have a couple of retail titles gone digital, a number of discounts, and even a new Virtual Console title on 3DS. Without further ado, here’s this week’s line-up:

Namco Bandai Games’ Wii U launch title Tank! Tank! Tank! – which is currently available at retail for around £20 – is coming to the eShop. However, the business model and pricing structure may surprise you: whereas other retail downloads have been priced at the RRP in the eShop, Tank! Tank! Tank! will be a free download, including the modes Monster Battle, Free-For-All and Team Versus, which can be played up to three times per day. You’ll then be able purchase any additional modes – including Story Mode -for the usual price of £7.99; although these are on offer until 28th February, meaning you’ll be able to grab them for £1.59. Bargain!

Next, as we await the patch and demo for Chasing Aurora – which was recently submitted to Nintendo for approval – Broken Rules’ flying experience is shedding 25% of its launch price for a week, meaning you’ll be able to download it for £7.99 (was £10.79) until 21st February.

Meanwhile, Frozenbyte’s magnificent Trine 2: Director’s Cut – which scored highly in our review – is seeing its price cut permanently from £13.99 to £9.99.

Over to Nintendo 3DS, then, and retail titles Shifting World and Mahjong 3D – Warriors of the Emperor – from Rising Star Games and Treva Entertainment respectively – are hitting the eShop for the reasonable price of £17.99 each.

There’s also a free demo of QubicGames’ 2 Fast 4 Gnomz, and Konami’s NES classic Castlevania title on the Virtual Console for £4.49, ahead of Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate’s release next month.
