You know Nintendo’s onto something good with Wii U when indie developers are clamouring to release their games via the Nintendo eShop. Two Tribes appears to be one of these developers as – despite the delays its upcoming Toki Tori 2 is facing – it’s all but confirmed that it has plans to port its cube-based 3D platformers to Nintendo’s latest system.
“Now that Toki Tori 2 is in the final stages it’s time to look ahead. We’re thinking of bringing our cube games EDGE and RUSH to Wii U too.
“For RUSH we may end up making the TV the optional display, instead of the other way around which a lot of games are doing.
“Touch screen and 3D puzzle games go together well. Who needs a TV anyway ;) For those who don’t know RUSH: YouTube“
Furthermore, Two Tribes has also revealed the genre of game it’d like to develop next, presumably following the releases of Toki Tori 2, RUSH and EDGE.
“Throwing this out there: who’d like to see a co-op centric puzzle game in a 2D Toki Tori-like world from us?
“While we’re at it: local co-op or online?”
For the record, we think that sounds great!
