News: Irish Retailer Outs Wii U Version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Despite Ubisoft’s strong line-up of eight Wii U launch window titles, the latest instalment in one of the publisher’s biggest IPs, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, was only confirmed for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC during E3, where the game made its debut.

Despite this, Canadian retailers Best Buy and Future Shop both listed a Wii U version of the game, before swiftly removing these titles from their respective databases. And now, months later, adverts for Splinter Cell: Blacklist on Wii U have been seen in an Irish branch of GameStop – among other promotional material for the upcoming system’s games.

Of course, this could certainly be a mistake on the retailer’s part, but we can remain hopeful that the game will indeed be released on Wii U alongside other formats’ versions in Spring of next year.
