News: n-Space Unsatisfied With Heroes of Ruin Sales

n-Space’s Heroes of Ruin launched on 3DS back in July, and despite widespread positive reviews – our own included – the game has sadly failed to make any kind of impact since day one.

Speaking in an interview, n-Space co-founder Dan O’Leary has discussed his new IP’s sales figures, and disclosed what he believes to be the main reason behind Heroes of Ruin’s lacklustre performance on 3DS:

Can you say anything about the sales of Heroes of Ruin (released over the summer)? Are you satisfied with how the game sold? Is there room for a possible sequel down the road somewhere?

“No, we’re not satisfied with the sales. The 3DS attach rate is… challenging at best and it seems that, for all its promise, Heroes of Ruin did not appeal to enough of the installed base. I am super pleased with what we made and would love to return to the genre one day, but I fear that Heroes did not have enough commercial impact to justify a sequel.”

It’s always sad to see a quality game not living up to its potential, but perhaps Heroes of Ruin would gain a new lease of life as a retail download in the Nintendo eShop?
