News: More New Super Mario Bros. U Info Details New Game Modes

As if there was any doubt beforehand, New Super Mario Bros. U has a confirmed release date of 30th November in Europe, as it joins Nintendo Land as the two first-party Wii U launch titles that have been confirmed thus far.

Aside from looking absolutely gorgeous in High Definition, Nintendo has revealed revealed three new game modes which will appear in the upcoming side-scroller: Boost Rush, as detailed in Game Informer last week; a Time Trial mode, which challenges you to, according to NoE president Satoru Shibata, reach the end-of-level flagpole in the shortest time possible; and a third which sees you making your way through a level (or series of levels) by hopping from enemies’ heads – touching the ground causing you to forfeit your progress and start over.

Are you interested in these extra modes after enjoying NSMB2s Coin Rush mode, or is Nintendo simply making way for post-launch paid-for Add-On Content?
