News: Vote For Your Favourite Nintendo Games In The Golden Joystick Awards

If you love Nintendo and want to support its games further than simply buying and playing them, now’s your chance to help the games you love achieve the recognition they deserve: voting in The Golden Joystick Awards’ shortlist has now opened, and there’s nine Nintendo exclusives across sixteen categories for you to choose from – not including the ports heading to Wii U at some point in the future.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Resident Evil: Revelations are directly competing for the ‘Top Gaming Moment’ and ‘Ultimate Game of the Year’ awards, whilst the former is also a nominee for ‘Best Action/Adventure’, with Capcom’s survival horror looking to grab the ‘Best Handheld’ award.

Also, up for ‘Ultimate Game of the Year’ status is Kid Icarus: Uprising, which is looking to dishevel huge multi-platform releases along the lines of Mass Effect 3 and Batman: Arkham City – which are both arriving on Wii U later this year, it’s worth noting.

Nintendo’s uprisen retro revival is also a nominee in the ‘Best Handheld’ category, in an attempt to fend off fellow Nintendo 3DS games – Kingdom Hearts 3DMario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land – as well a trio of first-party PlayStation Vita titles.

Monolith’s epic Wii adventure Xenoblade Chronicles is going head-to-head with some stiff competition, with The Elder Scrolls V: SkyrimFinal Fantasy XIII-2 and Mass Effect 3 being strong contenders in the ‘Best RPG’ category.

The Wii U is already looking for some recognition, too, with its upcoming exclusive titles Pikmin 3 and ZombiU, developed in-house at Nintendo and at Ubisoft Montpellier respectively, both nominated for the ‘One To Watch’ award.

And, last but not least, Intelligent Systems’ eShop gem Pullblox will be hopefully be fighting off Mojang’s multi-million-selling Minecraft for the ‘Best Downloadable’ award.

If you’d like to see any of the aforementioned titles given a Golden Joystick award, head over to GoldenJoystick.com to cast your votes. Be sure to let us know what you’ve voted for, and may the best games win!
