If there’s one thing everyone could derive from E3 last month, it’s that Nintendo’s forthcoming console has split opinion within the industry: some anonymous devs claiming that the Wii U isn’t as powerful as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, while others, Scribblenauts developer 5th Cell included, can’t wait to bring their games to the system.
In an interview with Videogamer.com, the CEO of 5th Cell has called the argument of the Wii U’s power (or lack thereof) “frustrating,” before going on to deliver his verdict on the upcoming system:
“[The Wii U is] definitely more powerful than Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It’s kind of frustrating to see the rumours and speculation of people going back and forth saying it’s weaker or more powerful. It’s definitely more powerful.”
It’s great to hear this from a named source, although it does make us wonder why whoever has called the Wii U weaker than its predecessor’s direct competitors did so, and whether their claims are unfounded.
