If you were an early Nintendo 3DS adopter, you may remember an abundance of claims that the system had no third-party support in its launch window; and while Nintendo has said that it’s learned its lesson for the Wii U’s launch, it seems that the Wii U may well be next in line for criticism regarding launch titles.
With Konami bringing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS, there’s plenty of third-party exclusives coming to the handheld. However, the publisher doesn’t seem so sure on Wii U, as it’s focusing on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, with Nintendo’s HD console being snubbed for the time being.
“We have no plans for a Wii U version. It’s a great console, but my team are focused on PS3 and Xbox 360 at the moment.” – Dave Cox, Konami
This news comes after a Wii U version of Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate was cancelled in order for the development team to focus on the 3DS version. Does this indicate that Konami’s development teams are having trouble working with Nintendo’s upcoming console, are they just wary of the system’s success?
