News: E3 2012, Ubisoft – Round-Up, Including Rayman Legends, ZombiU and Assassin’s Creed III!

After no Wii U news whatsoever from EA, Ubisoft has revealed six games for Nintendo’s upcoming HD console during its 2012 E3 presentation. Here’s our round-up of the the conference that got us banned from Twitter!

  • We had Usher singing during Microsoft’s conference, now we have dancers and a rapper. Just Dance?
  • The rapper’s Flo Rida, apparently.
  • Yes, Just Dance 4 has been revealed, coming 9th October.
  • “Life is the fuel that powers the game.”
  • Far Cry’s producer is now on-stage to present a trailer.
  • Far Cry 3 is looking rather beautiful. Nice to see some green jungles in a first-person game rather than the grey/browns we’ve been witnessing all day.
  • Far Cry 3 trailer has gone from an open, jungle-based shooter to a strange, psychedelic first-person… thing.
  • Far Cry 3 – coming soon. No consoles mentioned, although Ubisoft has “plenty of surprises for you.”
  • Ubisoft answers Facebook users’ questions. Single player will include various islands for the player to discover.
  • Ubisoft now talking about Splinter Cell: Blacklist following its reveal during Microsoft’s conference.
  • A second Splinter Cell trailer! Fingers crossed for a Wii U logo at the end…
  • Splinter Cell goes Metal Gear Solid with stealth-action (mainly action) and new gadgets.
  • No Wii U version of Splinter Cell (confirmed) either.
  • Here’s Marvel Avengers, though, and this is making its way to DS, 3DS, Wii and Wii U!
  • Spiderman, Hulk and more shown off in Avengers trailer, with a Wii U logo!
  • Ubisoft discussing the Wii U! We knew it!
  • Ubisoft showing of Rayman Legends for the Wii U with the game’s senior producer.
  • Brand-new Wii U trailer for Rayman Legends (using early Wii U development kits).
  • Rayman and Murphy, the new character, work together using the Wii U Game Pad’s combination of sticks, buttons, and touchscreen.
  • The final version of the game will have up to five simultaneous players!
  • Compatible with Wii U Game Pad, Wii U Pro Controller, and Wii Remotes/Nunchuks.
  • Four players can play the standard platformer on the TV, while the user with the Game Pad can use the touchscreen in time with the rhyth,!
  • New M-rated Wii U exclusive “puts you right in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.” Gory shots here.
  • Wow, carnage in London in the trailer for ZombiU, which was originally Killer Freaks from Outer Space.
  • Concept trailer for a variety of Wii U games, now: Rabidds Land, Sports Connect, Just Dance 4, Rayman Legends, ZombiU, Assassin’s Creed III and an unnamed kart racing game.
  • A new Assassin’s Creed III trailer shows off the protagonist riding a horse towards the red-coats, a HD eagle soaring through some trees, and deer-hunting/wolf-slaying gameplay.
  • Player creates havoc by causing a huge explosion, then sneaks up on his unsuspecting enemies.
  • “Will there be a lot of focus on the British being the enemy?” Another trailer is shown which shows off the 30-year timespan in the game; variety in enemies and locales.
  • From the developers of Trackmania, Ubisoft reveal Shootmania – a first-person online shooter.
  • Six players are on the stage playing Shootmania’s Elite Mode – a 3v3 multiplayer game “with a twist.”
  • Shootmania does look to be a PC-only game.
  • There’s now a trailer revealing some of the company’s online/downloadable games.
  • At this point we temporarily lost connection to the stream. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
  • Brand-new Ubisoft IP revealed; sees a suspicious-looking man strutting through a bustling street.
  • It’s almost certainly set in the future. Character offers player a drink in a club… wearing a cube with QR codes on his head.
  • Looks to be a Hitman-esque stealthy game which focuses on disguises?
  • And the first combat is shown – very secretively, where nobody’s watching. Player quickly hides weapon and takes to the streets once more.
  • Map on the screen could imply that it’s an open world game, much like Grand Theft Auto. Player seemingly has control over aspects of the environment, such as traffic lights.
  • Definitely looking to be one of the more promising games of E3 so far! Wii U release, Ubisoft?
  • …and Watch Dogs is its name!

And that would be the end of the first day of E3! What do you make of the announcements so far? Are you liking Ubisoft’s Wii U support?
