Update: Ubisoft have now released a statement in response to the leaked trailer:
“An internal video showing Rayman Origins’ sequel has leaked over the Internet. This video was intended as a purely internal demonstrative video, and in NO way represents the final game, the final console or their features. This video was destined for internal production teams who often create game prototypes with work in progress development kits. Ubisoft confirms the development of Rayman Legends is handled by Michel Ancel and his team in Montpellier.”
If their statement is true, Ubisoft have nonetheless confirmed that a sequel to Rayman Origins is indeed in development for the Wii U!
Original Article: French gaming website Gamekult.com has uncovered a video from Ubisoft which shows off a brand-new Rayman platformer entitled Rayman Legends. According to the trailer, you can expect to see ‘legendary settings,’ an ‘epic rendering engine,’ new playable characters,’ ‘online gameplay,’ and, perhaps most excitingly, ‘Wii U exclusive content.’
Find out what this means by watching the trailer below:
Gamekult.com points out:
“Since the original video has been removed from YouTube by the editor, there is little doubt that whether it is a genuine leak and that the company would have like to keep it for E3.”
